1979 Gibson Les Paul in good shape! What a great piece and must be held in one's hands to be appreciated. It just oozes that rock n roll vibe! It features an impressive vintage sunburst finish and its nice and heavy like any classic Les Paul.
Its got several nicks and scratches, some tarnish on hardware, and the finish is worn and/or dull in places. Its a well played but well cared for guitar with lots of character. The frets are getting worn but there is life left!Overall a fantastic piece for the collector or player. Check out the pictures and feel free to ask more specific questions! In late 1960, Gibson replaced the Les Paul body shape with the SG design. Between 1972 and 1975, if someone ordered as a Les Paul Deluxe with regular humbuckers instead of mini-humbuckers, the guitar would have the word "Standard" on the truss rod cover and would essentially be a Les Paul Standard. Gibson began producing the Les Paul Standard again as a regular catalog item in 1976. Years of Production: 1952 - 1960, 1972 - 1975 (as Les Paul Deluxe), 1976 - present.
Unique to this Era: Last year with four-ply body composition. Changes back to two-piece body in 1978. Body Style: Single cutaway solidbody. Wood Composition: Four-ply Mahogany/Maple top, three-piece Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard.
