VTG 1969 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop Gold Top guitar P90s hard case. Musical Instruments & Gear > Vintage Musical Instruments > Vintage Guitars > Electric. I have never gigged the guitar and have not made any modifications (except adding my homemade, easily removable, "straplock" ring to the front strap button) so as far as I know, it is completely original. It has only been played on rare occasions over the past 35 years in my non-smoking home, and it has no electronic or structural issues that Im aware of. The guitar weighs about 10.5 pounds.
It has a one-piece neck that is not slim but I wouldn't consider it a tree trunk. Kluson Deluxe tuners and a Gibson inlay with open b and open o letters adorn the headstock, which has no volute and no Made in USA stamp. The Les Paul Model decal on the headstock is applied on top of the finish - which is typical on these older instruments.
The finish on the neck is nearly pristine. Electronics include two P-90 pickups and black Sprague capacitors. The body has wide binding in the cutaway.
The tune-o-matic bridge has nylon saddles with a retaining-wire for the screw-heads. There are a few dents and scrapes, mainly around the back edge of the body which I have tried to point out in photos.A few belt-buckle scuffs and scratches on the back are not visible in the photos and do not penetrate the finish. The gold top has three hairline finish cracks visible in the photos.
The top right corner of the headstock edge (as viewed from the front) has a 1/8 inch wide area where the finish is worn off. All of these defects were on the instrument when I acquired it. Note: the light-colored area that appears on the gold top in the main photo is a reflection - not a worn area of the finish.
